August + Quick Banana Pancakes

I didn't shop the month of July but did pick up two things from Express and a pair of slingback flats from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale in August.

I'm a big fan of how comfortable my Caslon sandals have been so wanted to try their Caslon Lexie Pointed Toe Slingback Flat too - I love the suede snakeskin pattern on this pair.

Other than the Caslon flats and some candles, the only other item I purchased during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale was this popular Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Ultra Lite Cardigan but didn't love how it reminded me of pajamas on my small frame for the high cost.

I really don't need any more jackets but this cute long blazer and cropped camo snakeskin jacket that were in the sale section of Express when I went to make returns in store was just too soft to resist.

Coincidentally, these are now the first and only two snakeskin printed items I now own. :)

What with the school year starting soon, we wanted to take the kids out to the beach, zoo, and gardens before it starts so here are a few snaps from weekends in August:

Here's a quick and easy recipe for Banana Pancakes:

1 ripe banana
1 cup rolled oats
2/3 cup water
1. Blend all ingredients together.
2. Add batter to a preheated skillet at medium-high heat.
3. Cook just like regular pancakes, flipping when bubbles form on the side.
4. Top with preferred toppings.
