Wedding Reminders (Tip #4) + Strawberry-Lime Cooler

After reflecting on my wedding, there are many things that come to mind that I had forgotten about in the hectic days leading up to the wedding and here they are, as friendly tips/reminders for those of you who will be getting hitched:

1. Prepare tips! - This totally slipped my mind and at the end of the wedding, I alone was frantically borrowing money from my mother to stuff into empty envelopes I thankfully had. I also totally wasn't prepared in thinking about how much to give each person but I luckily wrote everything down to mull over afterwards. Here are just some of the people you will have to tip - these are the people frantically tipped: the maitre d', bridal attendant, mc, dj, photobooth attendant, dj assistants, photographer, and videographer.

2. Figure out any etiquette you must follow for invitations BEFORE you order or make your invitations - It wasn't until after I cut 200 scalloped edged invites individually by myself that I found out the strict requirements my soon to be father-in-law had for our invitations because of Chinese culture - it had to open up, be red or pink, and include Chinese. After I broke down over this, I luckily sent out the ones I made to my side of the family, while we just ordered completely new and different ones for the groom's side.

3. Give your photographer a clear list of photos you want to be taken - The day of was extremely hectic with people wanting to take photos with us left and right but we never really got a proper family photo, one with just our nuclear family and one with the whole entire family, which would have been really nice. The below is the best we got but we're missing people on both sides.

4. Do NOT let anyone put lip gloss on you UNDER a lip stain - During our first dance, my new husband had on a ridiculous purple shade of lipstick that came off my lips and would not come off of his, which pretty much ruined the special moment for me.

5. Make sure all the family members you THOUGHT were coming are really there, before your MC announces said family members by name and they actually did not show up - not because they were rude and never told you, but because you for some reason overlooked their card of apology that they could not make it.

And here's a nice and refreshing drink you can make for those of you who do not like or cannot drink alcohol (like other fellow preggies):
