Family Photo Albums (Tip #5) + 7-Layer Vegetarian Nachos

Image
I've started an ambitious project a few months ago when settling into my renovated house but have so far put it on hold because there really just doesn't seem to be enough time for anything anymore. I miss the carefree days when there was tons of idle time. Now everything is just a blur from Monday through Friday and then the weekend is always too short. Anyway, the project that I have taken upon myself to do is to scan each and every one of my family photos from all the photo albums that we have, even as far back as my mother's childhood, and of course my baby photos, some of which are below. :) And the reason I want to do this is so these previous memories have a safe backup in case of any unforeseen worst-case scenarios such as a fire, which is what happened to my neighbors. :( I bought the Ion Air Copy Wireless Scanner , which I saw someone else using and I find it's very easy to use but it does only work on Wi-Fi, which I wish I knew, because I can only use i

It's a Girl! + Easy Lemon Cookies

Image
I didn't want to at first because I thought it would be a bit much since I'll have a baby shower next month, but enough of my friends and family and A too really wanted it so I ended up having a small gender reveal party with some of my closest friends and family earlier this month and I'm really glad I did. :) I had the envelope in my possession for a good two weeks but luckily didn't feel any urge to try to look inside. When the day finally came and we cut into the cake, I was so anxious! It's a girl! I didn't have much of a preference but I am so happy to have a little girl because there's so much we'll be able to do together and so much clothes and accessories I can share! :) The biggest hit on the dessert table were the lemon cookies, and they're so quick and easy to make! Here's the recipe: LEMON COOKIES Ingredients: 1 package lemon cake mix 2 eggs 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 teaspoon lemon extract (or substitut

April Haul + BLT Wraps

Image
Here's April's haul, which is primarily from outlet shopping in St.Augustine, Florida, mentioned here, and a ton of dresses from Old Navy and I'm just so thankful we have this trend now of tent/swingy dresses, which makes it so easy to shop for comfy dresses to wear in the last three months of pregnancy I have left ahead of me. :) Here's a tasty recipe for BLT wraps, perfect for the warm weather to come. :)   BLT WRAPS Cook Time: 15 minutes Ingredients: 3 cups chopped romaine 2 plum tomatoes, finely chopped 8 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled 1/3 cup reduced-fat chipotle or regular mayonnaise 4 flour tortillas (8"), warmed Directions: 1. St. Augustine + Catching Up

Image
I haven't been regularly posting since it's been so hectic with my BFF's bachelorette in St. Augustine, her bridal shower, her wedding, and then London and Paris for my babymoon. :) Here are some snaps from St. Augustine, Florida: We hit the outlet and I ended up purchasing quite a few items, including the J.Crew shirt on the left and Banana Republic top on the right. I absolutely love these new sandals from Nine West Outlet because they are so super comfy. Even though they aren't the most flattering on me, I love how cushioned the foot pad is and it just surprises me how much I put comfort first now when shopping. I ended up getting the black, which you'll see below that I put on immediately because my flip-flops were killing me. Oh, just dining by ourselves at the bottom of what was the world's largest swimming pool. :) We took a group photo of the twelve of us at Old Tyme Photos, where we dressed up in old-style clothes, which was super f

Wedding Reminders (Tip #4) + Strawberry-Lime Cooler

Image
After reflecting on my wedding, there are many things that come to mind that I had forgotten about in the hectic days leading up to the wedding and here they are, as friendly tips/reminders for those of you who will be getting hitched: 1. Prepare tips! - This totally slipped my mind and at the end of the wedding, I alone was frantically borrowing money from my mother to stuff into empty envelopes I thankfully had. I also totally wasn't prepared in thinking about how much to give each person but I luckily wrote everything down to mull over afterwards. Here are just some of the people you will have to tip - these are the people frantically tipped: the maitre d', bridal attendant, mc, dj, photobooth attendant, dj assistants, photographer, and videographer. 2. Figure out any etiquette you must follow for invitations BEFORE you order or make your invitations - It wasn't until after I cut 200 scalloped edged invites individually by myself that I found out the strict require
