November Haul + Jack 'n' Jill Burgers

I wouldn't have shopped if it weren't for the $20 credit I have with LOFT, which led me to visit the store and end up buying a few items. I'm actually wearing this LOFT Petite Stained Glass Lace Cami in my previous post. The only other items I purchased last month was a pair of Nike Air Huarache Run Ultra Se' Sneakers, which look great and are super comfortable but I have to say that I tried on the new Adidas Ultraboost Uncaged Sneakers  and they are even more comfortable! I've been eyeing this pair in grey but they unfortunately don't make them in size 5. :(

The only thing I tried on in store was this sweater dress, which I really liked (disregard my skinny jeans underneath and this was when I was still blonde last month).

Here's a recipe for really delicious burgers you can make any time without a grill - they're A's favorite!

OOTD + Getting Ready for the Holidays!

Here's a quick snap I took after buying our tiny Christmas tree. A swaddle blanket is now also a permanent accessory in addition to the ubiquitous scrunchy on my wrist, as mentioned here. :)

With the new tree, I tried to take some holiday photos for holiday cards. :)

Here's my last OOTD with blonde hair! Since my roots were growing in, I decided to try a mauve/rose color to blend in better with my darker roots and hair that will grow out.

Warm Winter Coats - Parajumpers and Canada Goose

After such a cold winter last year, I've come to realize that my warmest coats aren't very warm at all. What I wore all winter last year when it was coldest was my Burberry Brit Bosworth Quilted Patchwork Coat and Moncler Ariette Fur-Trim Puffer Coat, which definitely weren't warm enough. So I decided to look for a toastier coat this winter, which A graciously offered to buy for my Christmas present. :)

I first became aware of the Parajumpers brand when I visited the Paragon Sports store a few years ago so I knew they would be a good brand for a warm winter coat aside from the ubiquitous Canada Goose, which I was also considering. I remember trying on the girl's Canada Goose Brittania a while ago, which didn't fit quite right and so was much more interested in seeing how Parajumpers fit. I took a quick trip to Bloomingdale's at 59th Street to try the Parajumpers Long Bear Coat I've been eyeing and am very glad I did because the store has such a great select…

Vision Care + Leftover Turkey Sandwich

Since I'm on A's insurance plan now, he encouraged me to get my vision checked, which I haven't in ages because the last time I went many years ago, I was told that one eye is near-sighted, while the other eye is far-sighted, which meant I would never need glasses. I have, however, noticed that my vision has gotten worse lately when seeing things afar and so decided to go to an ophthalmologist during one of my lunch breaks. It turns out I do have 20/20 vision in one eye and 20/40 in the other. While it was too overwhelming to wear glasses with lens that improve the vision in both my eyes because it made me very disoriented when my 20/20 vision was more enhanced, it was nice to have both eyes working together once the vision in my 20/40 eye was improved by wearing glasses. Though I chose not to get glasses this time (I got prescribed sunglasses instead), I might decide to the next time I come in for my test, which should be yearly. Though many people skip their annual visio…

October Haul, Back to the Gym, + Ham-Asparagus Strata

The only thing I purchased last month is this super soft Asymmetrical Drape Collar Terry Cardigan by Caslon from Nordstrom. I love that it's so comfortable yet looks chic on thanks to the draping of the collar and it's 40% off now!

This zip cardigan would go as nicely with black skinny pants and booties for work as black leggings and sneakers for the gym. Speaking of which, I've just started to go back to the gym on a regular basis and I have to say that it was so hard the first day I went back after 2 months at home with the baby. When 8 lb weights were no sweat for me before I got pregnant, I was struggling with 5 lbs in the same sculpting class. It's crazy how weak I've become even though I've been lifting 10+ lbs everyday because of baby A. I hope to get back to how strong I was during my wedding or better yet, even stronger than I was before.

Here's a recipe for a super delicious breakfast of ham-asparagus strata:

Going Blonde(!) + Biscuits

A has been bothering me to go blonder almost ever since we started dating, which was why I dyed my hair a blonde ombre at first as seen here and then got blonde highlights for my wedding as seen here but it evidently wasn't enough because he asked me to go blonde yet again while I was home on maternity leave. So I decided to just go full on blonde like he wanted so he can see how it actually doesn't look very good on me and never bother me again. I know this seems like a huge thing I'm doing just to satisfy him but it's also to save my sanity since I'm sure he would have bothered me about it every year if I didn't do it now, which is the best time to do it before my baby can see all too clearly. :) After doing as much research as I could - there's not much out there on blonde asians - I made an appointment!

Surprisingly, it wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be on me but this took 7 hours and the burning of my head and nose and eyes to get done. I…

September Haul + Spanish Rice

I actually didn't purchase anything for myself the month of August for the first time ever, not only because it has been super busy being a mother but because I've only been shopping for the baby. This is what I shop for now:

But I did shop in September and ended up keeping a pair of grey distressed jeans from Express and 3 pairs of workout pants from Under Armour because it's time to get back into shape. After attending a Pilates class, which used to be easy for me, I realize how out of shape I am from not working out during the past 2 months so I definitely have my work cut out for me.

Here's an easy recipe for easy Spanish rice, though I have no idea when I'll ever have time to cook again:

SPANISH RICETotal Time: 20 minutesIngredients:1 lb. lean ground beef (90% lean)1 large onion, chopped1 medium green pepper, chopped1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce1 can (14.5 oz.) no-salt-added diced tomatoes, drained1 teaspoon ground cumin1 teaspoon chili powder1/2 teaspoon garlic …

Post-Pregnancy OOTD + 15 Baby/Pregnancy Tips!

I luckily did not gain much weight at all and so quickly lost it all right away but still stuck to dresses - I have yet to put on a pair of pants. :) Here are some post-pregnancy OOTDs:

There's so much that I wish I knew before having Baby A so here I'm just sharing some tip from my experience:

1. Trust your instincts - I had a feeling something was up when I kept seeming to pee in my pants after just going to the bathroom but both A and my doctor when I called her told me it was too early for me to be in labor and that it was probably nothing. It turned out that my water did break and I was obliviously making waffles as mentioned here. I luckily had a doctor's appointment that day anyway and it was confirmed my water broke and I had to go to the hospital asap because I was having that baby that very day. I obviously freaked but all was well!

2. Be prepared early - I luckily prepared in advance both at work and at home so I was prepared in both aspects when I went into lab…

Baby A + Nutty Whole Wheat Waffles!

Baby A came a month early! :)

Luckily, I was pretty prepared and will share tips soon. I had no idea my water had broke and I would have Baby A that very night so I was making these Whole Wheat Nutty Waffles, which were delicious and I'm so sad I was only able to eat only one before heading to my doctor's appointment, where I found out my water actually did break. I think it'll be a birthday breakfast tradition for her. Here's the recipe!

NUTTY WHOLE WHEAT WAFFLES Ingredients:1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour1/2 cup whole wheat flour2 tablespoons sugar1 tablespoon baking powder1/2 teaspoon salt2 cups reduced-fat milk6 tablespoons vegetable oil2 large eggs1/2 cup finely chopped pecans, walnuts, almonds, or hazelnutsDirections:1. Put all ingredients into a large mixing bowl and combine until well blended and smooth.2. Let batter sit 5 minutes before proceeding.3.
