As requested, here's a more detailed review of the
J.Crew Chateau Parka in Stadium-Cloth in size 000P. I decided to also purchase this coat in black to compare it to the dark forest color, and I think I'm ultimately going to keep the dark forest color, which actually looks lighter in person than the photos.
I was a bit hesitant to try out this style since many reviews said this coat is huge and unflattering but decided to get it anyway because it looked so cute. I'm glad I did because I don't think it fits big, although I can maybe understand the reviews because the side view is a little bit tent-like and the front is an A-line shape when buttoned up as you can see in these photos but it doesn't bother me and I think it's a rather nice change from the straight-cut wool coat that I own. I like that the fur trim is removable and I did notice that the fur trim that comes with the black is lighter in color than the dark forest fur trim, and I actually prefer the darker fur color because it doesn't contrast as much.
Though I initially ordered the black because I thought I would prefer it, I was pleasantly surprised that I actually like the green better. I think it's possibly because you can see more detail in the forest color and it's also a nice change from all the black coats I already own. :)
I do want to point out again though that this size is quite snug so I can only comfortably fit a thin sweater on underneath, which is definitely not warm enough for frigid NYC winters but is perfect for the chilly fall weather now. Speaking of which, I can't wait for Thanksgiving this week! :)
As usual when returning items, I tend to shop in the store and end up purchasing things to replace or even surpass the amount I bought in the first place. Here are some things I tried on at J.Crew but actually passed on, with much difficulty.
Here's some cute stuff from Forever 21 that I actually couldn't pass on:

Cute lightweight black trench wrap, romper for $5.59, cute pink utility jacket, super cute buffalo plaid dress from the girls' section. |
