I've been wanting a pair of cutout booties for a while now and I think one of the reasons I've been wanting a pair
now more than ever before is because the temperature is finally warming up but it's not quite
warm enough to wear sandals yet it seems so wrong to trap my feet on nice,
sunny days. I went on a shopping spree with all of the ones that caught my eye and hoped I would be happy with at least one of them.
First up are these
Vince Camuto 'Maizy' Booties that are a Nordstrom exclusive, especially since they go down to a size 4 (!). I ordered them in a size 4.5 in the Smoke Taupe color and a size 5 in the Black color to try out the size and color. They really are very comfortable thanks to the wide stacked heel but unfortunately, I didn't love them enough to keep them. Since I am trying to streamline my shoe collection, I want to hold out for a pair that I really love but do have to say the color and cutout design is really nice. I fit both sizes for reference but would opt for the 4.5 since I also like to go with a snug fit, especially since I wouldn't wear these with socks or tights.
While flipping through Victoria's Secret's Clearance circular, their Lace-Up Wedge Booties caught my eye so I decided to give them a shot too. The size 5 fit pretty well but I would have preferred the back of the wedge to be enclosed, which would have been more comfortable so back they're going back as well.
Next up are these
Jessica Simpson 'Careyy' Sandals, which I liked the most out of all these pairs but they are unfortunately a little too big throughout. It wasn't a problem for me when snapping these photos but I know from experience that I wouldn't be able to wear these for too long before sliding around in them would cause major pain so these unfortunately have to go back too. But for anyone who's on the bigger end of size 5 and up, these are really great with a super high heel. Along with the shoes, the
Melie Biano Transparent Minaudiere also caught my eye. The transparent accessories trend has been around for a while now but I was never really into showcasing everything clearly in my bag so the black shade really intrigued me since it's clear but not easy to see through, which still gives you a sense of privacy while being open yet mysterious at the same time. The only issue I've noticed so far is that the plastic material attracts a lot of lint but that might just be static. :)
Leaving you with the fortune cookie quote, "It is a happy talent to know how to play."
