Maui Jim Sunglasses Review + Black Bean and Corn Chicken Taco Bake

Image
After that brief bout of snow we were hit with in NYC last week, I think Spring is finally upon us and is here to stay (yay!). The beautiful weather has motivated me to search yet again for a pair of aviators that look nice on my petite face so I was happy to notice a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses in the new Nordstrom circular, which eventually led me to these Maui Jim 'Kolohe' 50mm Polarized Sunglasses . I was intrigued because the size (50mm) seems perfect for a petite-sized face like mine and I was happy to discover that they do, indeed fit well. :) Top: ASOS (old). Pants: Old Navy the Rockstar Twill Cargos in Olive Camoflauge . Boots: Kenneth Cole Reaction 'Fun Hunt Ankle Boots' . Sunglasses: Maui Jim 'Kolohe' 50mm Polarized Sunglasses . As mentioned before, I've been cooking a lot more than usual (every night lately) and it's been quite the learning process. I'm much more efficient at cooking now and have been relying on quick recipes sin

Peek-A-Boo - Cutout Booties + Transparent Clutch Reviews

Image
I've been wanting a pair of cutout booties for a while now and I think one of the reasons I've been wanting a pair now more than ever before is because the temperature is finally warming up but it's not quite warm enough to wear sandals yet it seems so wrong to trap my feet on nice, sunny days. I went on a shopping spree with all of the ones that caught my eye and hoped I would be happy with at least one of them. Jacket: H&M girls (old). Booties: Vince Camuto 'Maizy' Booties in Smoke Taupe . First up are these Vince Camuto 'Maizy' Booties that are a Nordstrom exclusive, especially since they go down to a size 4 (!). I ordered them in a size 4.5 in the Smoke Taupe color and a size 5 in the Black color to try out the size and color. They really are very comfortable thanks to the wide stacked heel but unfortunately, I didn't love them enough to keep them. Since I am trying to streamline my shoe collection, I want to hold out for a pair that I

March Haul + Antioxidant Smoothie

Now that it's April, here's a summary of my purchases from last month: I don't think I've been doing a great job of minimizing my shopping since I was unable to fit everything into one photo this time but I know I'll never fully be able to stop shopping so am content with how things are going. There are two items I haven't mentioned in any posts above and I just want to quickly say that Zappos has great customer service so I had a free gift card to use due to an inconvenience so decided to pick up a bunch of things to try and ended up keeping Flojos Jane 2-pair Variety Pack flip-flops, which are surprisingly very comfortable with a cushy foot bed and the Obey Berlin Laptop Case , which is also very cushy and I don't feel like my current case is protective enough for my Macbook Air (which I got for free - somewhat - from using my credit card points!). If you shop as much as I do and haven't been paying attention to your points, try taking a peek a

Tobi Review + Tofu Lasagna Cupcakes

Image
My best friend's birthday (!) is coming up and as I was helping her browse for a new dress on Tobi.com , I couldn't help noticing a lot of velvet pieces were on sale and I was particularly intrigued by this Soft Whispers Velour Dres s because of the cute side cut-outs. I don't own anything in velvet and don't exactly know when I would ever wear this but couldn't resist trying it out to see how the brand fits. I was on the fence about it since it is final sale but was pretty confident it would fit well since it's short on the model and has adjustable straps (always key for me). Since every style isn't available in XS, I was pretty confident XS would fit well on me since the model is wearing a size S, which is very helpful to know when shopping online. The ability to see if pieces are available in size XS by mousing over the image is convenient but I do wish the site could be sorted by size so it's quicker to browse by narrowing things down. Now on to

Athleta Stripe Strength Hoodie + Peanut Butter Banana Wontons

Image
Just updating the results from my previous post on Athleta here . It was tough but I narrowed down my picks to only keep one since one is all I really need. I decided to keep the Stripe Strength Hoodie in Granite Grey as seen below. I'm very happy with it and still think it's the most comfy of the ones I tried on - not sure if that's why this is a hoodie, while all the others are called jackets. Top: Athleta Stripe Stength Hoodie in Granite Grey. Pants: MICHAELMichael Kors Petite Straight Cord Leggings (sold out now but brown version in reg sizing  here ). Booties: Aldo (old but similar here ). And to continue my recent wonton skin recipes from Mind Over Munch , here's a yummy one for Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana Wontons, which I've eaten as a snack and also a bunch for breakfast. They're delicious when devoured warm. PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE BANANA WONTONS Ingredients: Wonton wrappers Banana slices (not too thin or too thick) Peanut Butter Min

Currently Obsessed - Maxi Dresses + Mini Pizza Bites

Image
I'm not quite sure why, but I'm still gravitating towards maxi dresses (I mentioned them here ) when browsing online and in stores. I've recently just picked up two very summery ones - one from H&M and one from ASOS - and can't wait to wear them. :) Dress: H&M.  iPhone 5S Case: Giovanna Battaglia. You can't tell from the photo but this dress has a sheer maxi outer layer with a shorter slip that hits above the knees underneath it. This is from their Divided line (a size 2 usually fits me but I will definitely have to get this shortened) and the top of the dress is made of their typical comfy/stretchy poly material. ASOS Fishnet Insert Maxi Column Beach Dress This ASOS Fishnet Insert Maxi Column Beach Dress caught my eye because it's modest in its length yet has fishnet detailing that is subtly alluring. I can see myself dressing it up for a party or wearing is casually to the beach. This is unfortunately not from their Petite line so I'

Yet Another 'B' + Black Bean and Wonton Burger Bites w/ Special Sauce

While flipping through the H&M circular, a boy's T-Shirt with Printed Design caught my eye because it features a giant letter B (my favorite letter) with a lime green border (my favorite color) and NYC's cityscape with the Empire State Building juxtaposed inside it (my one and only city) so of course I had to go check it out. The largest size fits really snug on me but I left with it anyway since it's only $9.95 and with the Wrapp app (highly recommended for coupons), I left with it for just $4. Pairing it with a blazer makes it versatile enough to wear to work and also on casual weekends under a comfy zip. Tee: H&M T-shirt with Printed Design. Pants: MICHAELMichael Kors Petite Straight Cord Leggings (sold out now but brown version in reg sizing  here ). Booties: Aldo (old but similar here ). I actually just purchased the MICHAEL Michael Kors Petite Straight Cord Leggings recently and have to say I am impressed with the fit and sizing. I wasn't expecting
