It Fits! - Petite Old Navy Blazers + Petite Banana Republic Dress

Upon hearing this Banana Republic Sloan Colorblock Sheath and Old Navy Ponte-Knit Blazer could possibly fit very well off the rack without any alterations, I purchased all the available colors in my size right away to see for myself. I just received them yesterday but wanted to share as quickly as I could that they do, in fact, fit great on me just the way they are.

Blazer left to right: Old Navy Ponte-Knit Blazer in Navy Stripe, Heather Grey, and Indigo. Top: Banana Republic. Bottoms: LOFT. Shoes: Saks Fifth Avenue.
I really don't need any more blazers since I own a fair share in black and navy already but I don't have any grey ones, the blue and white striped one is the perfect replacement for the J.Crew's girls' denim jacket in harbor stripe that I wanted to keep here, and the indigo color is more of a denim blue than classic navy. The material is a soft ponte fabric with bronze colored buttons so they are definitely more casual and comfortable than the ones I own. I did notice the overall fit and sleeve lengths vary slightly between each color but it's not enough to stop me from keeping them, especially since they were only about $25 each with the promo code I used. The promotion going on now isn't as good as the one I used, which was 40% off, but if you're going to try these out too, use promo code SAVEMORE for 30% off $100+ or 20% off any amount less than $100. I haven't tried Old Navy's petite items before so I'm happy to have such a new petite resource to add to my list of brands that fit well on me off the rack.

Dress: Banana Republic Sloan Colorblock Sheath. Shoes: Saks Fifth Avenue.

Speaking of familiarity with petite brands that fit off the rack, I've always been under the impression that Banana Republic's petite size 00 dresses are always a bit too big, just as I thought of Ann Taylor/LOFT dresses here. I wasn't expecting to keep this dress but was very pleasantly surprised with how well it fit so I've decided to keep it, despite it's hefty price tag. I'm used to much shorter hems so this is much more sophisticated and conservative than usual for me but A likes it and I do also like the neutral colorblocking of this piece. The material is forgiving because it isn't very lightweight and has a nice stretch to it. It's creased right now since it came folded in its packaging but I'm hoping after washing and ironing that it won't wrinkle too much from sitting and standing. Luckily, Banana Republic has a 40% off your entire purchase promotion going on until 1/20 with code BRSAVE40, which is better than the 35% I used to purchase it. And of course, now that I opened up their site to give you these promo codes, several other items such as these Old Navy Rockstar Twill Cargos in Olive Camouflage caught my eye so the vicious cycle continues on...

Leaving you with the fortune cookie quote, "Nothing astonishes men so much as common sense and plain dealing".
