As I expected, my time in Miami went by in the blink of an eye. I tried my best to take advantage of the pool and bay that was my backyard for the few days I was there:

The day after returning home, New York welcomed us back with snow. Ironically, while shopping in Miami, all I bought were winter essentials - a scarf and gloves that I was able to use right away:

I have been looking for gloves with touch-screen technology to use with my iPhone but haven't been too hopeful in finding a pair since they aren't made for kids and it's hard enough finding normal adult gloves that fit my small hands. Surprisingly, when I pulled on a pair of gloves at the Kenneth Cole store in Miami's Dolphin Mall, I found the unisex S/M touch tech gloves fit pretty well, with just a little bit of space at the top of some fingers. I'm hoping they'll shrink a little to fit better after putting them in the dryer but they work well enough with my phone now. (*Edit: The gloves did not shrink much after drying them and there is still quite a bit of space above the fingers). They are made of wool and feature a stylish faux leather cuff. Despite happily scoring this pair of gloves, my favorite purchase from Miami is a knit/faux fur scarf from Banana Republic Outlet. At first, I was debating between brown fur and black and decided on the black because I prefer not to wear real-looking fur but after that decision, I had to debate between the snood version with just the fur or this longer length version. I finally settled on the long version here because I like how the scarf could be tied tighter around my face and I love how it has the versatility to keep me warm but looking polished with the fur around
the neck but still also look casual and keep me extra warm with the length and warmth of a thick knit scarf at the ends.

The rainy and snowy weather also meant I could try out my new
DAV Equestrian Rainboots, which I purchased from Victoria's Secret and are now on clearance! I already own a couple pairs of rain boots but couldn't resist buying these to try them on after seeing them in their circular. They fit nicely, and for reference, I am a size 5 but on the smaller end as I don't always fit all size 5s. There is a 1" heel and the shaft is a nice length - not too tall where I can't sit - and hits at a nice place right below my knees. My calves are also quite big but they fit nicely in these boots even with pants on. The top back of the boot features elastic so it can slip on easily and this boot also features buckles that are adjustable (and aren't just for decoration on the side). Another the reason I kept these is the soft microfiber lining inside, which keeps me nice and warm.
