Fall Back - Burberry Billington + Apple iPhone 5S Case Review
Yay to gaining an extra hour today thanks to the end of Daylight Savings Time (but it just means getting up an hour earlier for me).
After reading about Extrapetite's recommendation of the Burberry Billington Peplum Jacket, I became obsessed with it. I ended up purchasing her other recommendation, the Burberry Brit Rushworth Coat as well as another that caught my eye - the Burberry Brit Shenstone Cropped Trench with Belt. The Rushworth was too roomy for my taste but the Shenstone fit pretty well. I really only wanted to keep one though and ended up keeping the Billington, which I absolutely love. The material is a very nice and smooth yet thick cotton that is not thin like their classic trenches nor as heavy as their wool coats like the Rushworth. As you can see in the photo below, the back has really nice peplum detailing. The only alterations I needed were the shortening of the sleeves and belt loops, which came out to $25 each if you purchase through Saks Fifth Avenue. If you purchase from a Burberry store, alterations are free but this style is from Fall 2012 so it's no longer sold in stores unless you're lucky enough to possibly come across one on sale. I highly recommend this jacket if you're looking for a nice fall coat (it definitely won't be warm enough for the winter here on the east coast).
As can be seen in the photos in my previous post, I'm currently using the iPhone 5s Apple case in Beige for my iPhone 5s. It's my first ever iPhone (I know, I'm so late to the game) and I love the gold color but since I already dropped and scratched it, I decided to purchase Apple's case after doing a bit of research. It's the first time Apple has ever made a case for its line of iPhones, which should be significant. The case really does fit like a glove and leaves the phone still feeling very slim and lightweight. I love the beige color and the leather does feel very nice. However, it is hard to take off and I do have to admit the leather is definitely much dirtier and more worn now as you can see in the photos below (after using it for 3 weeks) but as with all leather, I did expect it to change over time. Overall, I'm still pleased with my purchase and won't be looking for another case anytime soon. (*Edit: It has now been over two months since this posting and I am desperately looking for a new case because it's just awfully dirty and gross-looking now. For such an expensive case, I had hoped it would last longer but this is unfortunately not the case - no pun intended).
