Black & White - Christian Louboutin Flats + Land's End Silk Shirt Review

Luckily, I won a spot last week in the Outnet's Christian Louboutin Secret Sale and since participants were only limited to one purchase, I settled on the Balinodono patent-leather ballet flats. I was very upset at first because I unknowingly signed up for the sale under "Shipping to: United Kingdom" at the top of the page (though my account information clearly states I am located in the United States so take note if you ever sign up for anything on the Outnet)! I found out nothing could be done after trying to fix it through customer service but surprisingly, even with the expensive shipping from the UK to the US, the total price was still cheaper (about $20-30) than if I purchased from the US location so it all worked out in the end. After much deliberation, I have decided not to keep them because they are a bit too big on me yet a bit too tight at the toes too and I also prefer less toe cleavage. I was hoping they would be as comfortable as the Simple 100 pumps I purchased last year but they aren't so they're going back. They really are beautiful though; I love the white patent leather with black bow detailing on it, which is what attracted me to them in the first place. If you're interested, they're still on sale at 45% off and are available to all now here!

As you all know on the East Coast, it's been getting very chilly lately, reminding us that winter is right around the corner. I'm not a big fan of bulking up a lot so I've been looking for warm layering pieces. Land's End's Women's Petite Silk Interlock Crew caught my eye as a warm yet breathable and lightweight layering piece. I decided to give it a try since they do offer it in Petite XS and I'm curious about their sizing. Upon opening the package, I noticed right away that the material is very thin and sheer, which wasn't a good sign towards keeping it already.

Upon trying it on, I liked how smooth it felt and it really isn't as sheer when it's on the body though the fabric isn't very forgiving. The sleeves are still a little long on me but I like how this piece is basic enough to wear as is as well as a layer for warmth. (*Edit: It has been a month now and I actually highly do not recommend buying this shirt because the material is very poor and attracts a lot of lint. I shouldn't have kept it just to avoid the return shipping fee.)

Some upcoming sales to note:

Left: Sephora's VIB Sale November 7-11. Right: Sak's Fifth Avenue's 40% Designer Sale November 6-8.
